Showing again that hidden folders Option windows xp

What you see Folder Options in Windows Explorer is missing? If ever there is the possibility of virus in your PC that make garbled. Virus deliberately removed so that we can not change the option (the settings) a specific folder on the Option. Usually the virus will activate the option Hide extensions for known file types. (see picture below)

What is the reason this virus to activate the option? By enabling this option then the file extension is not visible. Example caoba.doc (MS Word document) is only visible caoba. Ujian.xls file (MS Excel document) can be seen only test. Caoba.exe, ujian.exe also can be seen only caoba and ujaian. Conditions such as viruses are often used to trick us. Documents we file infected then changed the file extension to be excutable (exe). Sample files caoba.doc be changed by the virus caoba.exe, or ujaian.xls changed to ujaian.exe and seen by our caoba and ujaian.

Then back to show the Folder Option "is missing" can be done with some of the following steps:

  1. click Start> Run> type gpedit.msc and then enter or OK. Then will appear the Group Policy as the picture below.
  2. Then click User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Windows Explorer (see picture below)
  3. On the right, select / click the Remove the Folder Options menu item from the tools menu, so it appears like the image below.

  4. Usually the virus mark Enabled option. If so select option Not Configurated and then click OK and then close the Group Policy.

  5. Your open Windows Explorer now> select the Tools menu. Hopefully the Folder Options menu is displayed there
